What is Activate Software?

Activate™ is a SaaS application built on Microsoft .NET architecture.  

Activate™ is unique software designed to maximise business and compliance continuity during team member transitions. As a result, every transition becomes simple, seamless and cost-effective. In addition, it helps protect organisations from managing any risks such as financial, operational, reputational and intellectual losses,  helping integrate new team members into compliance from day one.

How do I access the Activate™ solution?

Once you have been set up as an Activate™ customer you will be sent your log-in credentials.

Activate™ is accessible via any device that has the following web browsers and web access:

● Internet Explorer 10 (onwards);
● Microsoft Edge;
● Google Chrome (all versions);

How is the Activate™ solution hosted?

Activate™ is hosted by iHandover Ltd on the Microsoft Azure platform.  Activate™ Enterprise Solutions can also be hosted on local environments. Please get in touch with a member of our team to discuss off-site hosting requirements.

Through the use of Azure hosting, iHandover Ltd can geo-store data in specific regions if requested.

Where is my data physically stored?

All primary and backup customer data is stored in data centres in the region specified upon initial database creation for the application.

Data is stored only on devices attached to the applicable server and not on devices such as flash drives, compact discs or tape.

Will our data be shared with third parties or shared across other services the cloud provider may offer?

No, and we use logs placed to provide an audit trail of user activity for specific user tasks carried out within the system.

Activate™ and the Azure hosting environment is designed only to allow users access to permissible areas.

Who backs up our Activate™ data?

The Azure hosting solution handles Activate™ data back-ups.  As a result, your application data is fully backed up every 2 hours. In addition, each snapshot is held and is accessible for restore for a period of 35 days. 

Off-site backup solutions can be accomplished on request.

How secure is my data?

The Azure hosting solution from Microsoft is globally recognised as a highly secure hosting solution.

All password data held within the system is encrypted and stored in MD5 format.  In addition to this, only selected and required support personnel from iHandover will have access to customer datasets.  No changes or updates to your data will occur without your express written authorisation.

What are the data deletion and retention timescales?

Data stored in the database, database works while subscription is active.

Does this include end-of-life destruction?

Yes.  An e-mail will be sent to inform, and then confirm all data in the database has been removed.
